Youth banking

Date: 7/23/2012

At St. Michael's Academy in Springfield, representatives from Freedom Credit Union recently went to the school to thank the children for participating in the credit union's Youth Banking program.

To participate in the program, Freedom provides each child with the initial account deposit. Throughout the school year, Freedom went to St. Michael's Academy to accept deposits into the children's savings accounts, review their monthly activity statements, and explain the fundamentals of saving.

Shown in the photo are the children who participate in the youth banking program at the Academy. In the back row are, left to right: Ann Dougal, principal of St. Michael's Elementary School; Beverly Walz, branch officer at Freedom's Sixteen Acres Branch; and Edward Nuñez, Freedom's business development officer.
