| SPRINGFIELD Looking for a career in health care? Begin your training with the American Red Cross Pioneer Valley Chapter by taking the Nurse Assistant Training course the class you'll need to prepare for the Massachusetts State Certified Nurse Assistant Exam. Applications are now being accepted for the American Red Cross Nurse Assistant Training course being offered by the Pioneer Valley Chapter. Several classes will take place in the coming months. Day classes will be offered from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m., Monday through Friday at the Pioneer Valley Chapter Headquarters, 506 Cottage St. in Springfield and at the Geriatric Authority of Holyoke, 34 Lower Westfield Rd. in Holyoke. Call 737-4306 ext. 914 for more information on the day classes. Night classes will be offered from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday at the Pioneer Valley Chapter Headquarters in Springfield and at the Geriatric Authority of Holyoke in Holyoke (on Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays only). Call 737-4306 ext. 915 for more information on the evening classes. Candidates will learn principles required to take the Massachusetts State Certified Nurse Assistant exam. Class sessions include classroom instruction, skills practice and clinical experience. Course fees range from $675 (which includes book, blood pressure cuff and stethoscope). Payment plans are available.
