HOLYOKE — Three Mercy Continuing Care Network facilities have gained national recognition for continuous quality improvement and superior resident and patient satisfaction.

Farren Care Center, Mary’s Meadow at Providence Place and Providence Care Center of Lenox have received the “Excellence in Action” award from My InnerView, the nation’s leading provider of performance-improvement solutions for the senior care industry. The award recognizes nursing homes that have successfully made quality a priority to better serve the needs of their residents and family members.

The “Excellence in Action” award is presented to nursing homes that maintain a significant response rate and score in the top 10-percent of qualifying facilities on the question “What is your recommendation of this facility to others?” with respondents rating the facility as “excellent.”

“We are grateful to staff members at Farren Care Center, Mary’s Meadow at Providence Place and Providence Care Center of Lenox for providing high quality care with a compassionate touch in every encounter with residents, patients and family members. The ‘Excellence in Action’ award is the tangible result of their dedication to those we serve,” Daniel Moen, president and CEO, Sisters of Providence Health System, said.

“At Farren Care Center, Mary’s Meadow at Providence Place and Providence Care Center of Lenox, administrators and staff members are mindful that these facilities are ‘home’ to our residents and are a place where those we serve can feel safe, respected and comfortable. This level of commitment, coupled with high quality care, allows us to make a positive difference in the lives of our residents and patients, as well as their family members,” Christopher McLaughlin, COO, Mercy Continuing Care Network, said.

Mary’s Meadow at Providence Place and Mercy Home Care have also been recognized by Catholic Health East (CHE) for resident and patient satisfaction.

Mary’s Meadow at Providence Place is the recipient of CHE’s “Leading the Way in Service Excellence” award for performance in resident and patient satisfaction during the second quarter of 2011. The award recognizes Mary’s Meadow for achieving the highest percentage of survey responses reflecting “excellence” in overall quality of care and service among CHE facilities.

Mercy Home Care is the recipient of CHE’s “Achieving New Heights in Service Excellence” award for performance in patient satisfaction during the second quarter of 2011. The award was presented to Mercy Home Care after CHE officials compiled information from all of the organization’s home care agencies.
