Red Cross Hometown Hero nominations
Date: 9/26/2013
SPRINGFIELD – The American Red Cross is calling for nominations for its annual Hometown Heroes Breakfast.
Each year the chapter’s Hometown Heroes Breakfast honors local individuals and groups that have shown courage, kindness, and unselfish character when a friend, family member or stranger faced a life threatening situation, or who have had an extraordinary impact on his/her community or fellow man.
Next year’s event will take place on March 27, 2014 at the MassMutual Center.
Submissions are welcome from Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin counties. Nomination forms and criteria are available on the Chapter website at
www.redcross.org/cwm. Forms must be submitted online or postmarked no later than Dec. 31. Honorees will be selected by a blue-ribbon panel of individuals from the community, including former Hometown Heroes.
Sponsorship opportunities are also available. Hometown Heroes is the chapter’s largest annual fundraising event and provides the resources necessary to serve local communities. The American Red Cross Pioneer Valley Chapter serves greater Hampden, Hampshire and Franklin Counties assisting families affected by disaster, helping military families relay emergency communications to their deployed loved ones, and providing lifesaving training programs.
