River Valley Counseling Center’s annual 5K set for June 7

HOLYOKE – River Valley Counseling Center Inc. will host the third annual Run for River Valley, a 5K/1-Mile Walk on June 7 at Ashley Reservoir at Elks Lodge 902, 50 Whitney Ave.

Proceeds from the event support the programs provided to individuals and families in surrounding communities who are facing crisis and life challenges.

Registration will take place from 8 to 9:15 a.m. on June 7. Runner numbers, bib-tags and T-shirts must be picked up on race day as they will not be mailed. The race will start at 9:30 a.m. with the runners and then the walkers.

The entry fee is $25 prior to the race and $30 on the day of the event (cash and checks only). Children 12 and younger can register for $15. Make checks payable to: River Valley Counseling Center Inc.

Single and double strollers are permitted on the course; dogs, skateboards, rollerblades and bicycles are not.

Deadline for mail-in registration is May 30. Mail payment and form to: RVCC Run/Walk for River Valley, 319 Beech St., Holyoke, MA 01040. Visit www.rvcc-inc.org to print a mail-in registration form.

Deadline for online registration is June 4. To register online, visit www.accu-specracing.com. The first 100 registrants will receive a free T-shirt.

An award ceremony, food and entertainment will be conducted after the race at the Elks’ Lodge. The race and the festivities are rain or shine. For more information, call 540-1254.
