Angelika Melien returns to Girl Scouts

EAST LONGMEADOW Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts (GSCWM) is pleased to welcome Angelika Melien as its new Director of Fund Development. With over 12 years of extensive experience in the development arena as Director of Marketing, Pubic Relations and Development for Pioneer Valley Girl Scout Council, Assistant Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Western New England College, and Director of Leadership Giving at Bay Path College, Melien returns to the Girl Scouts to develop and implement strategies to strengthen and diversify types and levels of financial support for GSCWM.

"Now is the time for the Girl Scouts to be the preeminent leadership organization for girls," Melien said. "The skills, knowledge, attitudes and values that girls gain through their Girl Scout experience are critical to the well being of our families and communities. I am pleased to be able to share the mission and goals of Girl Scouting with donors and funders whose interest and dedication helps Girl Scouts to build girls of courage, confidence and character."

Melien holds a bachelor of arts in psychology from the University of Massachusetts and an MBA from American International College. She resides in Hampden.

Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts serves over 15,000 girls from five to 17 years old with the strong support of over 5,000 adult volunteers in 186 towns and cities in central and Western Massachusetts.
