Boys and Girls Club to run summer program

WEST SPRINGFIELD – The Boys and Girls Club of West Springfield will once again be running their Summer Fun Program from June 24 to Aug. 23 (nine separate weeks of camp) for children ages 6 to13 (6 year-olds must have completed kindergarten).

The hours of camp are 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. and include a wide variety of activities such as recreational swim, arts and crafts, gym time, group games, computers, game room, outdoor play, field trips, special events, and much more. The cost for camp is $135 per week, per child. There are no additional camp fees; camp fees include daily coverage from 6:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., all special events and field trips, daily breakfast and lunch. Family discounts are available and the Club accepts New England Farm Workers Vouchers.

Registration will be accepted at the Club Monday through Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and applications can be downloaded off the website at www.wsbgclub.com. Space per week is limited so make sure to sign up soon.

A onetime $25 registration fee per family and a non-refundable/non-transferable $50 deposit per week/per child is due at the time of registration. The remaining camp fee balance is due on a weekly basis the Friday before each participant's camp week. The $25 registration fee can be waived for those who pay in full at the time of registration. Campers will receive a camp T-shirt to wear on field trips at the time of registration.

Also available this year is the Counselor In Training (C.I.T.) Program for ages 13 to 15. The C.I.T. program offers an unique hands on experience built for teens that are interested in becoming a camp counselor. Participants will be able to sign up for two, two-week sessions. Session 1 runs July 8 to 19 and Session 2 runs July 22 through Aug. 2, an additional option of registering for the entire four-week duration July 8 to Aug. 2 is also available.

Registration is $225 per session/per person or $400 for the four-week program.
