CityStage hosts touring children's theater company on April 30
Date: 4/28/2010
Springfield CityStage will host the Paper Bag Players Great Mummy Adventure on April 30 at 10 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. Seven hundred students (grades kindergarten through fourth) from surrounding cities and towns will enjoy this performance from The Paper Bag Players.
The Paper Bag Players company comes to CityStage from New York, N.Y. They are an adult company that creates and performs original theater for children. Founded in 1958, The Paper Bag Players develop material based on a child's everyday experiences: creating very funny, slightly absurd, non-moralistic musical theater. Their shows are a theatrical collage combining short plays, rousing songs, freewheeling dances, audience participation, mime and painting and drawing on stage. Common household objects brightened with splashes of poster paint and crayon become their sets, props and costumes.
This is the second time The Paper Bag Players have brought their touring show to CityStage. For more information about the Paper Bag Players, visit
