College for Kids to celebrate their 25th

This summer will mark the 25th anniversary of College for Kids, Springfield Technical Community College's summer enrichment program for children in grades two to 11. College for Kids includes a wide range of courses such as computer art, fashion design, Web page design, creative writing, CSI Springfield, fantastic physics, magic, robotics, conversational Spanish, keyboard skills, Microsoft Office Wizardry, drawing, painting, scrapbooking, math, biology, black holes and hyperspace, nature photography, sewing, animation and cartooning, jewelry making, theater, sculpture and much more. Courses will be held from July 9-19 and July 23-Aug. 2.

Hundreds of children come to the STCC campus each summer to participate in the wide variety of learning opportunities designed for students in grades two to 11 and over 5,000 children have taken part in this program since it began in 1983.

Applications are now being accepted and many courses fill up long before the start date so early enrollment is strongly recommended. Interested individuals should contact the Center for Business and Technology at 755-4501 or 755-4225 to request a detailed program brochure.
