Elms College to host youth sports summer camps in July
Date: 4/3/2013
SPRINGFIELD – Elms College will host a youth all-sports camp for children ages 7 to 12 during the month of July.
The camp will run for three, one-week sessions, July 8 to 12, July 15 to 19, and July 22 to 26 and will take place on the college campus.
The all-sports camp is designed for children interested in multiple sports and activities. It will combine instruction in most of the major sports offered at Elms College, including soccer, basketball, baseball, lacrosse, volleyball, softball, swimming, and cross country with other popular physical activities such as kickball, ultimate Frisbee, and Zumba.
The camp will provide children the opportunity to develop skills in a wide variety of sports and physical activities. A staff of energetic and experienced college-level coaches and student athletes will focus on creating a safe and fun environment where kids can improve their skills and play sports that they already enjoy as well as those sports and activities that are brand new.
"We want to create a safe, supportive and vibrant sports environment, where children from around the Pioneer Valley can work with college-level coaches and players, meet new friends, have fun, and build skills and confidence that lead to a lifetime of physical activity and wellness," Peter Krasny, Elms College director of athletics, said.
The cost is $225 for one week, $425 for two weeks, or $600 for three weeks. Private instruction at the end of the camp day is $40 per hour.
Children must turn 7 years old by Dec. 1 in order to participate. For more information or to register, visit
