Falcettis to award music scholarships

Mr. and Mrs. Sam Falcetti, founders of the over 50 year old Falcetti Music chain of music stores, have recently retired and formed the Falcetti Music Foundation. Up to five $1,000 annual music scholarships will be awarded to graduating seniors each spring. The $1,000 scholarships area available to graduating high school seniors from Northern Connecticut and Hampden and Hampshire counties.

Applicants must be pursuing a degree as a music major at a Massachusetts or Connecticut college or university and will be judged on performance, extracurricular music activities, financial need, an outline of future plans and financial need.

Applications are available at 1755 Boston Rd., Springfield and 95 Elm St. in Enfield, Conn., and must be returned by mail, postmarked by April 11, to the Falcetti Music Foundation, 500 Springfield St., Wilbraham, MA 01095, Attn: Mr. and Mrs. Sam Falcetti. Scholarships will be awarded in May, and must be applied against tuition and fees at the school.
