Date: 10/25/2011
SPRINGFIELD The preschool children of the Springfield Jewish Center (JCC) helped First Lady Michele Obama reach her goal of breaking the Jumping Jack record in the Guinness Book of World Records. At 10:15 a.m. on Oct. 12, the children and staff at the JCC started doing jumping jacks and did not stop for one minute.
“We jumped good,” Samuel Adams, 2, said as he huffed and puffed.
“We are all interested in the physical well being of our children,” Preschool Director Deb Cohen said. “Not only is physical movement important for growing bodies but it is equally important to growing minds. This was a fun way to promote exercise and get all of us moving.”
