Learn to swim classes for all ages offered at Commerce HS

The Springfield Department of Parks, Buildings and Recreation Management is excited to offer learn to swim programs in two sessions this summer for adults and children. Lessons are offered at Commerce High School and participants are asked to use the Union Street parking lot. The department is committed to providing innovative programs and learning experiences for participants.

The learn to swim program is being offered to children ages five to 15 years, as well as adults ages 16 and over. There are two sessions to choose from. Session I is July 13 through 24, and Session II is Aug. 3 through 14. Each class is one hour long, and sessions last two weeks, Monday through Friday.

Times for these classes are adults, 8 to 9 a.m.; children's beginner level, 9 to 10 a.m.; children's intermediate level, 10 to 11 a.m.; and children's advanced level from 11 a.m. to noon. There is a fee of $50, cash only, for each session. Pre-registration is required, and can be done by calling Sandy Federico at 787-6435.
