Date: 11/2/2009
SPRINGFIELD The MacDuffie School, a co-educational college preparatory school for grades six through 12, will host an open house and International Festival on Nov. 8 from 1 to 3 p.m.
Prospective parents and students are invited to attend, as well as anyone interested in learning more about MacDuffie. Campus tours will be offered, as well as the opportunity to meet faculty and current students.
An exciting new feature this year will include an international component, a festival which will showcase the culture, food and traditions of 12 countries.
"It'll be a very colorful, fun and exciting environment," said Susan Clayton, Director of Student Boarding Admissions. "There will be Korean and Brazilian cooking, Japanese origami and Vietnamese and Jamaican crafts and giveaways. Attendees will even see Chinese masks and be able to try them on!
"With 55 international students in MacDuffie's boarding program, it will be a wonderful opportunity for them to share their cultures with the community," Clayton said.
Anyone interested in attending is asked to call the Admissions Office at 734-4971 or e-mail
