New HCA fall courses announced

HOLYOKE — The Holyoke Creative Arts Center, 400 South Elm St., recently announced its new fall lineup of courses.

Debra Dunphy will be offering a class in Beginning Oil Painting a Still Life. Dunphy will unravel the mysteries of painting with oils by teaching strategies that will result in a piece that will make all family members “ooh” and “ah.”

Students are sure to give a big welcome to Tammy Clark who will teach a class on how to turn an old piece of furniture into an heirloom. She will also teach a class on how to take a piece of glass, such as a bowl, and turn it into something very special.

Barbara Raschelli’s two classes, Firming and Exercising Through Jazz and Tap Dancing, will prove to students that 50 is the new 30.

Patricia Welch is an instructor for all seasons offering decorative, oil and acrylic painting classes. She will also be offering An Introduction to Water Colors that will teach students a step-by-step approach to creating a fantastic water color picture while exposing her students to a very relaxing, yet stimulating, environment.

Dunphy will be instructing a Colored Pencil class that will allow students to create a picture that will be sure to leave the viewer speechless. She is well recognized for her pencil portraits.

Madeline Calabrese will be offering an Intermediate Water Color class for students who have had an introduction to watercolors.

Anne Mueller’s buzzing classrooms are forever productive and a pleasure to be in. Once students find a spot in her class they never give it up. Students can join her for instruction in oil painting any day of the week.

Members who enroll by Aug. 29 in classes running for eight or more weeks will receive a $10 discount on each class.
