Alex J. Serra, son of Dale M. and James M. Serra of East Longmeadow, recently enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps under the delayed entry program at Military Entrance Processing Station, Boston. The program allows recruits to enter the Marine Corps and take up to one year to complete prior commitments. Serra is a 2009 graduate of East Longmeadow High Schoool.
