'What Time Is It?' Time for 'High School Musical 2'

By Evan & Debbie Gardner, First Grader/Mom & PRIME Editor

If your kids are like my son, Evan, they've been tuning in to the Disney Channel every Friday night at 7:55 p.m. to get a glimpse of the most anticipated Disney movie of the Summer, "High School Musical 2."

Well, Evan and I got a chance to preview one of the songs, and music videos, from that highly-hyped film when a promo CD of the movie's new single "What Time Is It?" landed on my desk recently.

And I'm happy to report this sneak peak showed that Disney has pulled out all the stops for this sequel.

"What Time Is It" has all the energy and catchy lyrics that made songs such as "We're All in This Together" and "Stick to the Status Quo" from the original "High School Musical" such instant hits with kids and parents alike. (Evan loved the new song so much he kept asking me to cue it up on my car's CD player as we ran errands.)

Plus, on this song and all the tunes in "High School Musical 2' Zac Efron ("Troy") croons his own vocals (though Efron started his career in musical theater, production schedules meant he was voiced-over in "High School Musical").

Slip this CD in your home PC as Evan and I did and you'll also be treated to a glimpse of the high-energy dancing this sequel has in store, thanks to a sneak peek at the "What Time is It?" music video.

I think this summer sequel is one that isn't going to disappoint.

"What TIme is It?" CD single with bonus music video is available at retail outlets for $1.99. The song can also be downloaded fro ITunes and other online outlets.

"High School Musical 2" makes its debut on the Disney Channel Aug. 17.

The music soundtrack for "High School Musical 2" is slated for release Aug. 14.
