Fables come to life in form of gingerbreadDate: 12/6/2022 SPRINGFIELD – Stepping into the special exhibition room at the Springfield Science Museum is like stepping into a delicious storybook.
Gingerbread, frosting and sweet treats set the stage for some of storytelling’s most enduring and legendary tales as the Springfield Museums present their 13th annual holiday exhibit “Gingerbread: Flour to Fables” now through Dec. 31. The exhibit features professional, adult, youth and family divisions, the display showcases well-known scenes and characters from stories such as “The Three Little Pigs,” “Goldilocks and the Three Bears,” and the “Tortoise and the Hare,” as well as some classic Christmas scenes such as Santa’s village.
Visitors have the opportunity to vote for their favorite creations using the Springfield Museums’ mobile guide YOP up until the final day of the exhibition. The winners for each division will be posted on the museums’ social media channels and their blog, https://springfieldmuseums.org/blog/, in January 2023. The exhibit is free with museum admission.
