Thunderbirds are go for first-ever AHL ‘Final Four’Date: 6/6/2022 SPRINGFIELD – The Thunderbirds have had one of its most successful seasons. As this photo essay from the past season was being prepared, the team and the Lavel Rocket were preparing to meet in each club’s first-ever postseason as the clubs meet in the AHL’s “Final Four.” Springfield is the only team in the AHL that has yet to drop a game in the postseason, posting a perfect 6-0 record. The T-Birds have also not needed overtime in either of their first two series, during which time they have outscored the Penguins and Checkers by a combined score of 32-13.
