AIC honors three Chicopee residents

SPRINGFIELD American International College celebrated the achievements of some outstanding students at the annual Academic Awards, held on May 2 in the Esther B. Griswold Theatre for the Performing Arts. Following a welcome address by senior class president David Dimbo and a brief speech by class of 2006 valedictorian, Lauren Sulmone, professors and deans representing their respective departments and schools, handed out awards to students who had shown outstanding academic achievements in various disciplines.

Among the honorees were three Chicopee residents.

The Department of Mathematics award for outstanding achievement, presented by professor Paul C. Desmarais, was given to Amanda Breault. Breault, who received an introductory mathematics award, is a senior business administration major and the daughter of Jamie Breault.

The Department of Accounting scholarship award for outstanding achievement by a junior, presented by professor Keith Gauthier, was given to Julie Goudreault. Goudreault is a junior accounting major and the wife of Jon Goudreault.

The Department of International Business award for outstanding performance, presented by Dean John Rogers, was given to Wook Lim. Lim is a senior international business major.
