CHICOPEE Mayor Michael Bissonnette helped celebrate the opening of a new business in Chicopee on Feb. 2 when he cut the ribbon on the grand opening of E & G Automotive at 159 Granby Rd.

Service Manager Daniel Delton told Reminder Publications the garage moved from its location in West Springfield to Chicopee because of "location, location."

The business had been on a dead end street and the Granby Road site gives them far better exposure, he explained.

The building was renovated for its multi-bay use and Delton said it is "a lot brighter and cleaner" than its former location.

He said that working with the city to facilitate the opening of the new business "was great."

The garage features a staff of three ASE Master Certified Technicians who provide complete car care, including brake and electrical systems, heating and cooling systems, tire and wheel services and tune up and performance services. Owner Eric Lubarsky has been recognized by AC Delco as a "Technician of the Millennium."

Delton added the company has been awarded the distinction as an authorized Bosch service center and specializes in the repair of BMW, Mercedes and Porsche.

Delton added that business has been "gradually picking up" since the garage opened on Dec. 1, 2008 at the new location. With the coming of the spring, they anticipate a "sharp increase" in business, he added.
