CHICOPEE — City Clerk Keith Rattell issued the oath of office to 11 new firefighters on March 5. Mayor Michael Bissonnette called the occasion "a long awaited day" and explained that Chicopee's Fire Department was again at its maximum personnel number. He added that Chicopee is one of the few cities in the state with a full complement of firefighters. The 11 new firefighters will now undergo a 12-week training program in order to be certified as firefighters and as emergency medical technicians. The new firefighters include Ross Domningos, Andrew Durand, Brendan Moran, Zachary Vozella, Scott Harmon, Timothy Carriveau, Anthony Resnick, Cullan Gardner, Nicholas Brown, Joshua Provost and James Stefanik.
