CHICOPEE Riding on the success of its first annual silent and live auction, which raised $10,000 for the "Building Our Future Capital Campaign", the Boys & Girls Club of Chicopee will be holding its Second Annual Silent & Live Auction on Sept. 15 at the Knights of Columbus #69, Granby Road, Chicopee. Chicopee Savings Bank is this year's event sponsor. The Silent Auction, sponsored by Polish National Credit Union, will begin at 6 p.m. and end at 7 p.m. at which time the Live Auction will begin. Auction items to-date include a Conan O'Brien Gift Package; photography sessions; dance lessons; theater tickets; a technology basket filled with state of the art software and equipment; a party at Snooker's Billiard Club; a DVD player; a Jason Veritek autographed baseball; Curt Schilling autographed baseball; a football signed by New England Patriot's running back Mosi Tatupu; a Family Pack to Howe Caverns; Greater Holyoke YMCA Adult and Family Memberships; and an Ocean Isle Wicker Rocker. More items are needed. The Club will be looking to the greater Chicopee community for contributions of items, products or services to be auctioned off. Sponsorship opportunities are also available beginning at the $250 level. Tickets for the Auction are $10 before Sept. 15 and $15 day of the event. Hors d'oervues, live music and a cash bar will help create a fun-filled evening. All proceeds will go towards the Club's "Building Our Future Capital Campaign" with the hope to exceed the funds raised from the first annual auction. The Boys & Girls Club of Chicopee is, and has always been, committed to the physical, educational, emotional, social, recreational and vocational development of youth, with special interest for the disadvantaged, without discrimination. |
