CHICOPEE City officials are still looking for additional donations to underwrite the annual trip to Bright Nights offered to the city’s senior citizens.
Specials Projects Manager Heather Canady said the effort still need $1,800 so that 600 seniors can enjoy an evening that includes a dinner and entertainment followed by a trip to Springfield’s Forest Park for the annual display of lights.
She added she is confident the public will respond and the trip will be fully funded.
She said as of last week there were still 30 seats available for the evening. If interested in attending, seniors should call Canady at 594-1500.
This year, the trip was spread over the course of three evenings and almost 600 residents have signed up, she said.
Donations of any size can be sent to the Mayor’s Office, City Hall, 17 Springfield St. Chicopee, MA, 01013. Checks should be made out to the “City of Chicopee.”
