CHICOPEE Not only will this year's Fest of All be a four instead of a three day event, but it will have a preview as well.

Scott Chapdelaine, the chair of this year's community festival, announced last week the organizers will sponsor a free concert on June 27 in Szot Park featuring the Prime Time Players.

The concert will be from 6 to 9 p.m. with the ground open at 4 p.m.

The Prime Time Players is a locally-based eight-man show band specializing in R&B, Latin, pop and funk classics. The band was the winner of the 2006 Valley Advocate Grand Band Slam. To hear their music, log onto the band's My Space page at http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofile&friendID=105039612.

The band will introduce a line-up of free entertainment offered by the Fest of All committee the following weekend that will include The Checkmates, the Goat Ropers, Jovi, Back & Black, Dan Daniels and YNGB, George Dorunda and The Entertainers, Jus.Us Band, The Baha Boys, Barely Legal Blues Band, Donna Lee and Crooked Ledge Band, The Down Five Plus Five, Brass Attack, All American Band, Remember When and Soul Sensations. The last musical act will be a reunion of the Crescents Show Band.

Mayor Michael Bissonnette said that 70,000 people attended last year's event and that he expects "thousands more" to come this year, especially in light of soaring gas prices which will inhibit travel plans for many people.

Fest of All remains a free event with the organizing committee working with the over 20 food vendors to keep prices affordable on food and drink items. Other major attractions besides the musical line-up include a car show, a road race, a junior karaoke Idol contest, and a softball game between the Chicopee fire fighters and police.
