Women's Clubs plans fashion show

CHICOPEE The General Federation of Women's Clubs of Massachusetts, Western District, is sponsoring a fashion show, "Putting on the Ritz," on Nov. 22 at the Castle of Knights on Route 33. Featured will be fashions, a luncheon and a bazaar. Shopping will begin at 10:30 a.m., with lunch at 12:30 p.m., followed by the fashion show. Tickets are $30 and may be obtained by calling Norma at 596-8173.

Proceeds of the fashion show will be used to support Laura Coppola, a resident of Agawam and a volunteer for many organizations for numerous years. Coppola is the president-elect of the General Federation of Women's Clubs of Massachusetts. She will be sworn in as its president in May 2010. The General Federation of Women's Clubs of Massachusetts is a volunteer organization that consists of 111 clubs throughout the state, with more than 5,000 members. The clubs contributed over 325,000 volunteer hours and donated more than $600,000 to scholarships and various organizations throughout the state in the last year.

The Western District is made up of nine clubs: the Agawam Junior Women's Club, the Chicopee Falls Woman's Club, the Granby P.M. Woman's Club, the Lake Pleasant Woman's Club, the Pioneer Valley Women's Club, the Wilbraham Women's Club and the Wilbraham Junior Women's Club. Coppola is a member of the Wilbraham Women's Club and the Western District Presidents' Club.
