Annual fishing derby yields 246 catches

The fishing derby was a great success again this year, 246 trout were caught during the derby and many kids won prizes thanks to the generosity of our sponsors. Chairman Sean Coughlin did a nice job putting the event together, and new Jaycee members were a big help in running the event. It was a beautiful day and was great to see families out together at the derby... Alot of big fish were caught, and many kids didn't come in the top three although they had 16 inch or bigger trout.

This years biggest fish winner went to Raya Mackechnie three years old, the brook trout was 17 3/4 inches long.

The most fish caught at the derby went to Justin Coughlin, he managed to land 15 trout.

Division winners went as follows:

Six and under

First place, Raya Mackechnie; second place, Alex Mitchell; third place, Nick Baio. Most fish went to Justin Coughlin.

Seven to 10

First place, Nicole Dobrowalski; second, Andrew Frappier; and third place, Nolan Forbes. Most fish went to Miranda Richardson.

11 to 14
