Annual UNICO fashion show, beer/wine tasting taking place March 26

EAST LONGMEADOW - It's time to get your tickets for the East Longmeadow Chapter of UNICO's Sixth Annual Wine and Beer Tasting/Spring Fashion Show fundraiser, slated for March 26 at Elmcrest Country Club, 105 Somersville Road.
The festivities begin at 6:30 p.m. Tickets, which are available for purchase at Perella Real Estate, Sarkis & Co. boutique and Visual Changes Hair Salon, all on Harkness Avenue, are priced at $40 per person.
The monies raised by the event will help fund UNICO's scholarship program and other civic works by the organization. This year, UNICO is planning to award five $1,000 scholarships to graduating East Longmeadow seniors of Italian-American heritage.
"It's a full night out," UNICO Wine Tasting Event Chairperson Carl Perella told Reminder Publications. "For $40, [attendees] are getting a dinner of gourmet food, wines from around the world, Italian liquors, beers from local distributors and a New York-style fashion show."
In addition to the fashion show there will also be a raffle and silent auction.
Perella said clothing for the fashion show is being provided by Sarkis & Co. boutique with hair by Visual Changes. Local individuals will provide the modeling talent for the evening.
"It's going to be quite an event," Perella said. "We have 20 models so far and we're looking for more. Anybody who wants to model should contact the Sarkis boutique at 478-9074."
Additional sponsors for the evening include Lighthouse Liquors of East Longmeadow, Williams Distributing, Atlantic Distributing and the Berkshire Brewing Company.
Perella said UNICO is still seeking raffle and silent auction donations as well as more sponsors for this event. A $500 food sponsorship includes four tickets to the event and the promotion of your company's name on a tabletop sign; a $200 table sponsorship includes company name recognition and two tickets, a $100 model sponsorship includes an honorable mention and a ticket to the event.
