EAST LONGMEADOW – This past summer owner/operator Aaron Carrie opened his car detailing business, Attention to Detail at a new location on 173 Shaker Rd, bringing his business of five years to a permanent location.
Attention to Detail is a full-service auto detailer and professional car care that specializes in exterior and exterior detailing, paint correction, ceramic coatings, headlight restoration, paint protection film and window tinting. “So far, business has been good. I think it’s a good location with good clientele and nice people,” Carrie said. “The community has been treating me well. I already had customers in East Longmeadow before I had a shop for five years so I took that into account when I was looking for a building.”
Carrie started Attention to Detail in 2014. Ever since he was a little boy, Carrie explained to Reminder Publishing, he has always been a “car guy,” spending his time washing and waxing his father’s cars. “It started out as a hobby from the beginning. Then I would do my own cars and go to car shows,” Carrie said. “People would ask me, ‘Who detailed your car?’ and started asking me to do theirs for the next car show. A couple of folks that I met through that convinced me to start a business.”
He continued, “Initially, I was doing it as a little side hustle. At the time, I was an engineer. Eventually, I chose to detail cars full-time because it was what I was more passionate about. Being an engineer was good, it paid the bills and I enjoyed it, but I just enjoyed working on cars and being around cars more.”
Carrie ran Attention to Detail as a fully mobile service on wheels. He would go to the customer’s location – whether it be their house, business or work place. During that time, he partnered with a couple of large car dealerships by giving him a discount and letting him use their space. However, Carrie said it had gotten to the point where he was ready to go on his own and have his own building.
In addition to working on cars, Carrie is also looking to support other town-related initiatives. Recently he donated to East Longmeadow’s 2021 Earth Day Cleanup. One of his customers told him about the event and he explained he thought it was a great cause. Carrie said he would love to donate his time or services to the community. In the meantime, his plan is to make himself known to the town and hopes to host events in the near future.
Attention to Detail is open 9 a.m.- 6 p.m. They still offer mobile service as long as the weather is permitting.
