E.L. church plans annual tourney

HAMPDEN The Hampden Country Club, 128 Wilbraham Road, will be the new setting for the Greek Orthodox Church of St. Luke's 13th annual Golf Tournament on May 20.

The golf day will include an 11:30 a.m. barbecue lunch, a 12:30 p.m. "shotgun start" with 18 holes of golf which includes a cart, cash prizes and two hole-in-one chances to win a pool or spa, donated by Teddy Bear Pools, or $1,000 in golf equipment donated by Nevada Bob's.

After golf, travel four miles to enjoy a cocktail reception and delicious catered meal at St. Luke's Fellowship Hall at 400 Prospect St., East Longmeadow. Cocktails will be served at 5 p.m. with a dinner choice of prime rib or baked scrod to follow at 6 p.m. The entry fee is $100 per player and includes lunch, golf and dinner, as well as greens fees, practice range, locker and showers and use of a golf cart. The dinner is also available for non-golfers at $25 per person.

Registrations for golfers are being accepted now. Sponsors are also still needed for inclusion in the brochure as well as on signs which will be prominently displayed on one of the tees on the golf course that day. Sponsors may donate at one of three sponsor levels including $60, $100, or the $150 level.
