ELHS graduates sought for reunion

Did you graduate from East Longmeadow High School during the 1960s? If so, Rosemarie (Molinari) Myers is looking for you.

Myers is organizing the 40th reunion of the East Longmeadow High School Class of 1965 and her committee decided to open up the event to anyone who graduated from 1962 through 1969.

Myers noted that when she attended high school students from different classes were friends and thought this reunion should mirror that.

"We're getting such a great response," she told Reminder Publications.

Myers started planning the event over a year ago and sent out 1,000 letters to ELHS graduates.

She has used the Internet to search out people and is only missing 28 members of the 209 from the class of 1965.

The reunion will be Nov. 26 at Elmcrest Country Club with dinner, dancing and music from the popular band Brass Attack.

Myers has been assembling a video presentation of old photos of classmates which she thinks will be a highlight of the evening.

So far, over 200 people are scheduled to come, she said. She added that her goal would be to double that number.

The evening before the reunion there will be a recreation of the dances that occurred on Friday nights at the East Longmeadow Congregational Church during the 1060s. The sock hop will feature tunes from the era with dee jay "rockin' Ron." Tickets for the event are $55. The deadline is Nov. 16. For more information, contact Myers at 787-9991.

The missing classmates include: Pamela Allen, William Barry, Janet Carlson, Kathleen Collins, Carol Craven, David DeFlorio, William Frost, Glen Gamache, Cheryl Geoffrion, Cynthia Goodenough, Edward Haskins, Kent Krasnovsky,Karen Kratovil, Wayne LaBroad, Rosalie Lemanski, John Lightcap, Donna Maxwell, Wendy McDonald, Richard Newberry, Anne Nolan, Donna Pariseau, Jean Powers, Patricia Pratt, Steven Roy,Joan Schmidt, Karen Silverman, Dana Smith, Janet Smith, Robert Warren and John Williams.
