| EAST LONGMEADOW The Children's Department of the East Longmeadow Public Library will put up a Children's Giving Tree after Thanksgiving. Consider giving a new toy to one of the forty homeless children at The Our Place Shelter. To brighten a child's holiday simply pick a gift tag out of the gift tag box, and buy a gift suitable for the age and gender of the child chosen, (suggestions are included on the tag). Bring the gift to the Children's Department, and we will be sure that a child who would have had nothing for Christmas will receive your gift at a special holiday party. The Our Place staff will pick up the gifts and distribute them at the holiday party that they are organizing for the shelter. Therefore, it is important to bring the gifts to the Children's Department no later than Dec. 12, to ensure that they will be picked up in time for the party. We will also accept hats, scarves, mittens, socks, etc., for the shelter. If you would like to consider giving any of these types of clothing, it would be a wonderful gift to family members who have so little. |
