EAST LONGMEADOW – The town of East Longmeadow held their annual 9/11 ceremony the night of Sept. 11 to honor and remember those who died during the 2001 terrorist attacks in New York City. The ceremony was attended by Sen. Eric Lesser, Rep. Brian Ashe, Rep. Angelo Puppolo, East Longmeadow firefighters and police, and many residents.
The ceremony, which is usually a candlelight vigil, took place indoors due to the risk of EEE. The event featured songs sung by young community members, poem readings and remarks from state officials, including remarks from Sen. Elizabeth Warren read by Lesser.
