EAST LONGMEADOW Calling all crafters -- the Jaycees want you to help them make the first-ever Family Fall Festival and Craft Fair a success!

The festival is slated for Oct. 25 at Heritage Park. Hours will be 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Plans include a hayride, a pumpkin patch, storytelling, kid's activities and a costume parade at dusk.

One of the highlights of the daytime events will be the craft fair.

"We're seeking crafters right now," Jaycee Fall Festival co-chair Maureen Basile said. "We have 12 to 14 committed, but we'd like to have a lot more than that."

For information about exhibiting your crafts at the Family Fall Festival, call Basile at 883-3882.

"We're looking to add a new event after the carnival," Basile explained as the impetus behind this autumn addition to the Jaycees' community service work. "We wanted something fun that would keep our members active."

More specific information about the festival's events will be forthcoming as the date approaches, she said.
