Historical Commission announces benefit event

EAST LONGMEADOW Through the generosity of local artist Doug Brega and craftsman Steve Fourbush, along with other merchants, the East Longmeadow Historical Commission will be sponsoring a fundraising event. Our intent is to raise funds for building improvements to the Historical Museum House located at 87 Maple St.

The donated raffle prizes include two of Brega's limited edition prints, "Widow's Walk" and "Christmas at Nobska," framed and matted by J.H. Miller Picture Framing at 305 Bridge St., Springfield. A coffee table from 4-Bush All American Tables and a variety of other items donated from Romito and Sons, A.W. Brown's, Community Feed, At Any Length, Simone's, John Perkins-Genealogy Consultant and WGBY-PBS of Springfield.

The public is invited to support this worthy cause and come view the prizes, which will be on display at the E.L.H.C. booth during the Jaycee's Carnival from June 29-July 3. Chances are $1 each, six for $5 or 13 for $10. The drawing will be held July 4 following the parade at the Museum House. The winners will be notified by phone and do not need to be present.

Our special thanks to Taylor Rental, Acres Power Equipment and The Painted Sign, all of East Longmeadow, for their contributions and help in making our booth the best it can be.
