Local business gives back to the community

EAST LONGMEADOW Children in area foster homes will have gifts again this year, thanks in part to the Giving Tree now "planted" at Meadows Insurance Agency on North Main Street.

"It's a fun way for us to give back to the community," noted Jay Norma Tryon, Manager. "Plus, it helps kids in need find enjoyment in the holidays."

The Giving Tree fund-raiser will run until Dec. 18 and donations can be made at Meadows Insurance Agency, located at 200 North Main Street in East Longmeadow or by calling 525-1721.

Tryon explained that the Agency's Giving Tree is decorated with thirty paper ornaments and each ornament contains the name, age, and gift requested by a specific child. Anyone can make a donation for a particular gift. aWhen donations are made, the paper ornament is replaced by one made of glass.
