EAST LONGMEADOW – East Longmeadow Police Chief Jeffrey D. Dalessio and members of the department thanked Bay Path University for the annual donation to the department that was used to purchase a Cannondale electric-assist bicycle. Dalessio explained it was the second such bike purchased by the department, offering officers an alternative means of transportation. The bike can be ridden conventionally, with electric assist or fully electric. It has a battery life of eight to 10 hours, and has a range of 40 to 50 miles. Seen here are Sgt.
