Norcross Center readies for festival of trees

EAST LONGMEADOW Tickets at $5 each for the Festival of Trees at the Norcross Center at 89 Maple St. in East Longmeadow are now available at PIP at 30 Shaker Rd. and Graziano Gardens at 280 Elm St. They will be available at the door during the event on Nov. 26 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on the 27th from 1 to 5 p.m. for $7 each. All ticket holders are invited to a Wine and Cheese Party from 5 to 7 p.m. on the 27th when the decorated trees will be auctioned. A teacup auction will be held for smaller artistic home decorations and items donated by friends and merchants.

Proceeds of the event will be used for the restoration of the Carriage House for an art center. All Ticket holders may place bids for trees and auction items. Winners not present on Sunday night will be called by phone and arrangements will be made for pickup or delivery.

The recently restored house will be resplendent with decorated trees ranging from live table top topiaries, a tree for your pets, decorator period trees, an all-white tree, wreaths, swags, table pieces, center pieces, and a lighted reindeer.

The Wine and Cheese Parts on Sunday evening will ca the event as an appropriate welcome to the Holiday Season.

Proceeds from the event will be used to furnish the house with appropriate period furniture, rug, curtains, and art work.

Presently the walls are decorated with oil paintings on loan from Jeff Kern, a well-known local artist. The Friends of the Norcross Center welcome the donation of furniture from the Victorian period to complete th furnishing of the house.
