As its latest marketing campaign suggests, the popular online auction site eBay may have the "it" you've been looking for.

But how do you buy "it"? How do you sell "it"? And how do you ship "it"?

In a nation-wide collaboration with eBay, the United States Postal Service is providing answers, along with shipping solutions, to confused local consumers.

After a standing room only crowd to their first internet auction training seminar, the East Longmeadow Post Office is holding a second eBay Day on May 22, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. at the East Longmeadow Public Library.

"Selling on eBay is very popular, it's like an electronic tag sale," explained Nancy Wasko, supervisor of customer services for the town's post office. "Some people use it for a little extra income and others use it to clean out the attic."

The information that will be taught through PowerPoint and interactive presentations is intended to assist every type of eBay user. Trained professionals will teach participants how to create an eBay account, how to post items online for sale, how to close the sale, how to determine pricing and tips for shipping and packaging.

"The biggest thing we see is people who don't know how to print out the correct weight on postage or who are not aware of size or packaging limitations," Wasko said. "For example, liquor boxes can't be used to ship things because alcohol cannot be shipped through the post office."

For those who may already know the basics, experts will also explain more convenient ways of shipping including carrier pick-up and printing postage at home.
