Reminder that real estate and property tax bills are due

EAST LONGMEADOW - As a reminder, second half fiscal year 2010 real estate and personal property tax bills are due on May 3. The Clerk's Office will remain open until 5:30 p.m. on May 3 for those who cannot make it by 4 p.m.

The Town Hall also has a mail slot by the east entrance of the building closest to the stone and Town of East Longmeadow signs facing the rotary. This mail slot is intended for better convenience and if you choose to use the drop box, then your check stub will act as your receipt. If you want a receipt from the collector's office, please include a self addressed stamped envelope.

You can also pay your bill online by accessing our Web site at www.eastlongmeadowma.gov.

If you fail to pay your tax bill by this date, then by Massachusetts state law, interest will accumulate at 14 percent from 30 days prior to the due date, or April 1.
