Second Arts & Brew festival planned at Brew Practitioners

Date: 6/15/2023

EAST LONGMEADOW — The East Longmeadow Cultural Council will again host an Arts & Brew festival in partnership with Brew Practitioners, 45 Baldwin St.

On June 24, tents will be set up in the parking area behind the brewery and the work of local artists will be featured for the public to view.

“Last year it was very successful,” said East Longmeadow Cultural Council Chair JoAnn Asselin. “That’s why we’re doing it again.”

In addition to the art, there will be a food truck and musical entertainment will be hosted on the Brew Practitioners patio. Ritchie Mitnick will perform from 1-3 p.m., while Baird Souls will entertain the crowd between 3 and 5 p.m.

Asselin emphasized that the Arts & Brew festival is a family-friendly event. A stilt walker and a magician will be at the festival to entertain patrons and children will be able to try their own hands at making art in the Kids Tent. Asselin said the festival is “an effort to bring an event for families” to the area.

Because 2022 was the first time the East Longmeadow Cultural Council had organized the festival, the 12-6 p.m. event went on a little too long, Asselin said. “By 5 p.m., the crowd had thinned out,” she said. This year, the festival will run from 1-5 p.m.

Parking for the event is at the end of Crane Avenue. Asselin said that if people are looking to make a day of it, there will also be events at The Depot at Graham Central Station, 64 Maple St., and the First Congregational Church of East Longmeadow at the rotary.
