Town manager announces openings on town Boards

Date: 2/1/2018

EAST LONGMEADOW –  Town Manager Denise Menard has announced that there are two openings to be filled on the Board of Library Trustees, one opening on the Conservation Commission as well as one opening on the towns Housing Authority.  Menard is looking for residents who would consider serving in one of the positions.

According to Assistant to the Town Manager, Margaret Larocca, the terms for the Board of Library Trustees and Conservation Commission are three years in duration, and each is an appointed position.  As for the Housing Authority, the term is five  years.

For those who may be concerned with a time commitment, Larocca noted there are generally monthly meetings for  the Board of Library Trustees, the Conservation Commission and the Housing Authority; however there can be more meetings if needed, though this would be unusual.

Finally, Larocca stated there are no specific requirements for individuals who would like to apply to these positions, though knowledge in what the committees oversee is helpful.

If interested in applying to either the Board of Library Trustees or the Conservation Commission, submit your letter of interest to the Town Managers Office at 60 Center Sq., East Longmeadow, MA 01028 or via email at TownManager@eastlongmeadowma.gov.
