Town election rejects marijuana establishments

EAST?LONGMEADOW– The Annual Town Election occured on Tuesday to decide whether or not the operation of all types of marijuana establishments would be allowed to operate within the Town of East Longmeadow.

 The town also voted for a Town Council member and School Committee member.

The town refuted Question One with 1468 people voting to prohibit marijuana establishments and a mere 440 votes in favor of the businesses.

Michael J. Kane was selected to join the Town Council for the next three years.  Kane beat out his opponent Joseph A. Ford by 45 votes.

East Longmeadow voted to have Richard L. Freccero hold his seat on the School Committee for the next three years.  

Currently, Freccero is a six-year School Committee member and Adjunct AIC He is also a former teacher, coach and East Longmeadow Principal. Education Professor.
