| EAST LONGMEADOW The Board of Selectmen today announced that the Waste Reduction Informational Flyer has been mailed out to each Town residence. The flyer contains information about the new Waste Reduction Program, recycling information and a recycling calendar indicating what material is recycled each week. The new program allows for trash pick up every week, with recycling each week, alternating paper and cardboard collection one week and commingled bottles and cans the next. The week of July 11-15 will be a commingled bottles and cans week. Residents are encouraged to call the Waste Reduction Information Line at 525-5400, extension 106 for more details, or to leave a message with any additional questions they may have. Every question will be answered promptly. For questions regarding missed pickups only, residents are asked to call Central Mass Disposal at 1-800-352-3255. The Board of Selectmen expects to announce another recycle bin and recycle sticker distribution later this month. Residents can, in the meantime, use their current recycle bins or other trash containers (clearly marked as recycling) for their recycling. |
