Town plans Memorial Day observance

EAST LONGMEADOW All parade participants and marching units will start forming at 10:30 am at the High School parking lot on Monday May 30th under the direction of Parade Marshal Joseph Scanlon. Step-off will be at 10:50 a.m. Proceeding to the flag pole area where posting of colors by Vice Commanders of American Legion Post 293 and Italian American Veterans Post 64 will take place. Placing of wreaths by Selectmen and military honors will be conducted by Sgt. at Arms Ralph Rinaldi with volleys of the Firing Squad and taps and echo Taps by High School Band members.

All will be invited to proceed into the High School auditorium for the Formal Portion of the Program.

8. Principal Speaker Chairman of the Board of Selectmen John Claffey will recognize Dr. David Kosiorek for a special flag presentation.

9. Special Remembrances: Reading of names of deceased East Longmeadow war veterans by Selectman James Driscoll and a requested moment of silence by Selectman Gary DeLisle.

10. Greetings: State Senator Lees

11. Musical Selection: East Longmeadow High School Band under the direction of James Kiernan

12. Greetings: State Representatives Candaras and Rogeness

13. Musical Selection: Anna Giza and organist David Fournier

14. Benediction: Rev. David Brown
