Advent Fair to help kick off the holiday season

SOUTH HADLEY - The Rose Window Crafters of the First (Center) Congregational Church of South Hadley will be selling their popular herb and dip mixes, jams, fudge sauce and chutney on Dec. 4 from 4 to 8 p.m. and on Dec. 5 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will also be a potpourri boutique of Christmas items. No outside crafters will be participating in the fair.

A light meal from Rosie's Kitchen will be available on Friday evening from 5 to 7 p.m. and on Saturday, homemade soups and assorted breads will be available for takeout only.

Homemade holiday cookies donated by the local community will be on sale to benefit the South Hadley Council on Aging.

All events will take place in the lower level Fellowship Hall of the First Congregational Church, 1 Church St., opposite the Town Common, junction of routes 47 and 116. The public is invited. Free admission and free parking are available, and this is a handicapped accessible facility.

The church is directly across the street from the Friday evening holiday festivities on the Town Common which includes Santa's arrival accompanied by the South Hadley High School band, the lighting of the large Christmas tree and a stroll.
