HOLYOKE — Carrie Kennedy is passionate about healthy living and her new publication is aimed at like-minded individuals.

Natural Awakenings — Western Mass. is an offshoot of Natural Awakenings, based in Florida, which can be found in more than 80 markets across the United States and Puerto Rico.

Kennedy noted in an interview with Reminder Publications that her editions feature articles by national authors as well as from local leaders from the natural health, sustainable living and wellness areas.

"In each issue, readers find cutting-edge information and resources on natural health, nutrition, fitness, personal growth, green living, and creative expression with the products and services that support a healthy lifestyle," she said.

Kennedy added that her main objective is to be of service to the community.

"Natural Awakenings will assemble and share information that educates, inspires and improves the quality of life for individuals, families, the community and the planet," she said. "Of course, it strives for a more natural and green living component."

Segments titled "Community Spotlight," "Health Briefs," "Ecotips," "Wise Words," and "Conscious Eating" are intermingled with a host of regional news events.

In the April issue, now on newsstands, Kennedy notes that every issue of her magazine is a "green issue," and this month's theme of "Green Living" addresses a promising road map that can help ensure creative problem solving for issues large and small.

"Whether collaborating to address global crises or facilitating communications with people different from ourselves, it all helps us become a better connected, responsible whole," she said.
