Date: 7/24/2019

HOLYOKE – Gateway City Arts in Holyoke, known for their food, atmosphere, and live music, will soon welcome a New Jersey band with a unique sound.

The indie-rock band, “Real Estate,” will bring their tour to the Holyoke venue on Aug. 6.

Their tour begins in Canada at the start of August and features stops in Toronto, Quebec, and Maine before their journey to Western Massachusetts.

Real Estate is described by Cait Simpson, marketing director for Gateway City Arts, as a “perfect add to your summer playlist.”

Their fourth and most recent album “In Mind” was released in early 2017 featuring singles such as “Darling” and “Stained Glass.” The album earned Real Estate glowing reviews, and playing the largest rooms in their decade-long career. “They write brilliantly melodic songs with rich lyricism,” Simpson told Reminder Publishing.

Real Estate is no stranger to large shows, having performed at festivals such as Coachella and Glastonbury. The band also previously performed live on both Conan and the Late Show with David Letterman.

Simpson said those attending the show, “can expect the wistful nostalgia that is a staple of what Real Estate evokes … while being at an extremely unique music venue that really lends itself to special and impactful performances.”

Guests are invited to enjoy drinks and food from the Bistro at Gateway City Arts at 6 p.m. when the doors open. At 8 p.m. Composer and guitarist, Ezra Feinburg, will open the show.

The Aug. 6 show will be the first of three shows Feinberg will open for the band. Feinburg is a the founding member of San Francisco-based psychedelic rock band, “Citay,” and released his debut solo album in early 2018.

Simpson said while tickets are still available, people planning to attend the concert should “grab your tickets fast, this is going to be an amazing show.”
