Business students bring home awards

LONGMEADOW -- Longmeadow High School Business and Technology students recently brought home awards from the annual Business Professionals of America's State Leadership Conference.

Coming in fifth place for Small Business Management were Christine Heady, Mike Heady, Glenn Michelman and Alison Wynn. Earning second place for Interview Skills was Derek Harmanli. Harmanli also took third place for Fundamental Spreadsheet Applications.

The Presentation Management team made up of John Sopet and Ambra Maymon earned ninth place.

Harmanli qualifies and will be attending the National Leadership Conference taking place in Anaheim, Calif., from May 5 through 10. He will travel with over 150 other Massachusetts contestants and join with over 4,000 students from around the country to compete in over 70 different events.
