Children's programs begin at Storrs

LONGMEADOW A five-week series of children's programming will begin in September, at the Storrs Library, 693 Longmeadow St. On Sept. 12, at 10 a.m., the Philip Michael Lauro II, Discovery Room will accept walk-in registrations at the library for a new series of children's programs.

These Storytimes are planned to meet the needs of children who are between the ages of 24 months to six years. The series will run for

five weeks. Two Storytime sessions will take place on Tuesday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for children who are four and a half to six years of age.

They will begin on Sept. 20, and continue until Oct. 18. There will also be two separate Storytime sessions on Thursday at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m. for children who are three years one month to four years six months of age.

The Thursday programs will begin Sept. 22, and continue until Oct. 20. Sessions are limited to 20 children each. Registrations by phone will be accepted after 11 a.m. for all programs.

qChildren living outside the town of Longmeadow may register Sept. 13, after 10 a.m.

Two PARENT & TOT Programs for children who are between the ages of 24 and 36 months of age will take place each Wednesday at 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. beginning Sept. 21. The PARENT & TOT Program consists of finger plays, music, stories and a craft. Each child must be accompanied by their parent or caregiver with no younger siblings attending.
